This is the preferred method as it not only protects the affiliate link, but looks more professional. Some sites insist that the affiliate does this if he or she does not have a website of their own.

Another option for the affiliate who has no website is to create a blog. This is in effect a website, but not so versatile and is more restricted in design capabilities. A blog can be set up on Blogger absolutely free and is very easy to manage. Short of having a website this is the best option for an affiliate. It allows them to create a review site and also to be able to capture email addresses and start building a list.
